Brocade SAN Management Pack

Brocade has worked closely with Microsoft to extend the server administrator's view beyond the server and into the SAN infrastructure. We currently offer the Brocade Management Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) with two options:

• Brocade SAN Management Pack for SCOM
• Brocade HBA Management Pack for SCOM/SCVMM
• Both are free add-ons to Brocade management products. Brocade SAN Management Pack requires and is enabled through Brocade Network Advisor. Brocade HBA Management Pack requires the installation of Brocade host bus adapters in your Microsoft servers.

Brocade SAN Management Pack for SCOM gives SCOM administrators visibility into the network connectivity of their servers and the ability to proactively respond to network bottlenecks through policy-based actions. This management pack is enabled through Brocade Network Advisor v11.0 and above (formerly Brocade Data Center Fabric Manager*), which manages the fabrics and acts as a collection/forwarding agent for SCOM.

Through the Brocade SAN Management Pack for SCOM plug-in, Brocade Network Advisor populates Microsoft SCOM with fabric details, switch details, statistics and call-home events. Server administrators can quickly identify whether the SAN infrastructure is causing poor application performance. Technical support organizations receive notifications, enabling them to respond to incidents before service level agreements are affected.
