Limitations and Caveats
-----------------------
- The product is released for a support of PRIMERGY servers with
SV-Agent version 6.00.00 or newer.
PRIMERGY servers with older SV-Agent version will be discovered by this
product but the shown health states in SCOM may be incorrect.
Sometimes you will see warning or critical health states in SCOM
because of missing SV-Agent APIs used for this version of the SCOM integration.
Please update the SV-Agent or disable discovery for servers with
older SV-Agent by according Object Discovery override
- Emulex event log entries for event source elxstor, elxcna and elxfc are
all reported as Error event log entrie by the Emules device driver.
This version will report all these events as critical alerts in SCOM.
For detailed information whether this alert represents a sever problem
or is only information please refer to the Emulex documentation
provided with this version in the installation folder.
Check the specific error number in Appendix A of this
document "windows_manual_elx.pdf".
To stop the receive of such alerts in SCOM please disable the rule
“Event from Emulex FC Adapter driver [Emulex_11]” in SCOM
- If the SCOM tasks "ServerView Operations Manager (Server List)" or
"ServerView Operations Manager (Single System View)"
in a SCOM 2012 SP1 Console running on Windows 2012 do not work,
an entry in the registry must be modified:
In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command the "(Default)" entry
must be modified that it contains the switch "-noname". By default
you should change it from:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" %1
to
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" –nohome %1
- If ServerView Agents V6.20.xx are installed with "high" or "medium" =
"Typical (Administrator account based security)" security,
some WMI classes (Fan, Power Supply, Temperature Sensor) deliver no instances.
This means, that these instances are not monitored!
Recommendation: Either install these Agents versions with "no" security
or use a different agents version.
