Monitor Description for (56)
What Caused the Problem?
This storage subsystem cannot communicate with the fabric that connects the local and remote storage subsystems. Possible causes are:
Faulty interface transceiver (GBIC or SFP) on the storage subsystem side of the local storage subsystem to fabric connection
Faulty switch, switch port, or interface transceiver (GBIC or SFP) on the switch side of the local storage subsystem to fabric connection
Loose, damaged, or disconnected fibre channel cables between the local storage subsystem and the fabric (one or more switches)
Connection between the local and remote storage subsystem is not through a fabric (one or more switches)
The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.
Recovery Steps
1 | Verify the local and remote storage subsystems are connected through a fabric (one or more switches). | ||||||||
2 | Check this storage subsystem's Recovery Guru Summary area for failed interface transceivers (GBIC or SFP).
| ||||||||
3 | Check the switch the storage subsystem is connected to for indications of a switch port, interface transceiver (GBICor SFP), or other switch failure.
| ||||||||
4 | Verify that the cables connecting the storage subsystem and switch are not loose, disconnected, or damaged.
| ||||||||
5 | Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your technical support representative. |
