The inserted drive does not have sufficient capacity for the user data of the failed drive.
What Caused the Problem?
A wrong type drive has been inserted into the storage subsystem. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.
Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage the equipment.
Important Notes
Refer to your hardware documentation or call your technical support representative for information on which drives are certified for your storage subsystem and present on the enclosure specified.
You can replace a failed drive while the storage subsystem is receiving I/O.
Recovery Steps
1 | Remove the drive of a wrong type (its fault indicator light should be on). |
2 | Wait 30 seconds, then insert a drive of a correct type. The fault indicator light on the drive may be lit for a short time (one minute or less). |
3 | Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your technical support representative. |
