This monitor catches Xian events that notifies when the DS1 total line code violations has changed its state.

Summary

Number of DS1 Total Line Code Violations is over threshold.

The number of Line Code Violation errors in the previous 24-hour interval is above the maximum threshold configured in Xian Network Manager 2012.

Causes

A Line Coding Violation (LCV) is the occurrence of either a Bipolar Violation (BPV) or Excessive Zeroes (EXZ) Error Event. A BPV error event for an AMI-coded signal is the occurrence of a pulse of the same polarity as the previous pulse.

Misconfiguration of line coding and possibly physical line problems.

Resolutions

Verify the line coding configured on the port matches the line coding of the line in the show controller e1 output. Verify the physical line.

This rule monitors the number of Line Code Violations (LCVs) encountered by a DS1 interface in the previous 24-hour interval.
