This monitor catches Xian events that notifies when the Ethernet alignment errors if has changed its state.
Number of ethernet alignment errors is over threshold.
The number of frames that are not an integral number of octets in length is above the maximum threshold configured in Xian Network Manager 2012.
A frame is considered by this when the alignment error status is returned by the MAC service to the LLC (or other MAC user). Received frames for which multiple error conditions obtained are, according to the conventions of IEEE 802.3 Layer Management, counted exclusively according to the error status presented to the LLC.
Faulty network interface cards in servers or workstations, faulty ports, hubs, or routers, electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI) which can occur when you run copper cable near elevators or fluorescent lighting, or poor quality cable that cannot handle high-speed data transmission.
Analyze the software protocols running in your network to determine the source of the alignment errors, replace faulty network interface cards, replace faulty ports, hubs, or routers, replace faulty cable with cable that complies with the standard, or reroute cable that is too close to sources of EMI or RFI.
Monitors the number of frames received on a particular ethernet interface that are not an integral number of octets in length and do not pass the FCS check.
