This alert indicates that a server farm could not connect to the Shared Services Provider (SSP) of its parent server farm.
This alert indicates that a server farm could not connect to the Shared Services Provider (SSP) of its parent server farm.
Possible causes include:
Microsoft SQL Server connectivity issues.
Network connectivity issues.
The parent server farm is inaccessible or down.
The permissions on the parent server farm have changed.
The product versions of the child and parent server farms are mismatched. This can occur if one of the farms has been upgraded or is in the process of being upgraded.
Verify SQL Server availability.
Verify network connectivity between the child and parent server farms.
Verify that the parent server farm exists and is accessible from the child server farm.
Ensure that the child server farm has permissions to the parent server farm.
If you have access to the parent server farm and are an SSP administrator on that farm, use the Manage Shared Services between Farms page in Central Administration to verify that the child farm still has permissions to the parent farm.
If you do not have access to the parent farm or are not an SSP administrator for that farm, check with the SSP administrator for the parent server farm to ensure that the child server farm has permissions on the parent server farm.
Verify that the child and parent farms are running the same product version, service packs, and patches of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. If they are not, apply the appropriate service pack to the child or parent farm to bring both in sync.
Note:If the parent farm is being upgraded, wait until the upgrade is complete before upgrading the child server farm.
