This alert indicates that the Office Document Conversions Load Balancer Service (DCLoadBalancer) failed to start. This means that the load balancer cannot communicate with the launcher.
This alert indicates that the Office Document Conversions Load Balancer Service (DCLoadBalancer) failed to start. Therefore the load balancer cannot communicate with the launcher.
Note that on the Services on Server page in Central Administration, the DCLoadBalancer service is referred to as the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service.
Possible causes include:
The configuration file cannot be read by the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service.
The Document Conversions Load Balancer Service cannot use the port specified in the configuration file.
The Document Conversions Load Balancer Service could not be configured as a remotable object.
Review the Windows Event log for errors related to the Office HTML Viewer Service to determine the cause of the problem, and troubleshoot accordingly. Note the following:
The Windows Event log uses the previous name (Office HTML Viewer Service) when referring to the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service.
Use the Services on Server page in Central Administration to repair the configuration information for the of the Document Conversions Load Balancer Service. For example, if the problem is that the load balancer cannot use the specified port number because the port is being used by a different application using .NET remoting, you can specify a different port number to use.
Ensure that the configuration file (Microsoft.Office.Server.Conversions.LoadBalancer.exe.config) has the correct IP address configured. Note that computers with multiple network adapters may be configured to use the wrong IP address.
