Summary

A process or a person attempted to start the SQL Server Agent service, but the service did not start.

Causes

Typically the service will not start if the service account is not correctly authenticated.

Resolutions

Verify that the SQL Server Agent service account is configured correctly. You can access the SQL Server Agent service account from SQL Server Configuration Manager.
