SQL Server Agent has shut down the SQL Server Agent service.

Summary

SQL Server Agent has shut down the SQL Server Agent service.

Note that this rule does not work if SQL Server on Windows instance is monitored agentlessly.

Causes

This may be caused by faulty hardware or software on the server.

Resolutions

Investigate system error logs and the SQL Server Agent log to isolate the errors that were raised before SQL Server Agent turned itself off. Correct the problems that caused the initial error and restart the SQL Server Agent service.
