The rule triggers an alert when the SQL Server Service Broker cryptographic operation fails.

Summary

SQL Server Service Broker could not complete a cryptographic operation.

Causes

This error may indicate a serious problem with SQL Server. This error is logged in the Windows application log as MSSQLSERVER event ID 9641. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows system and application logs for other errors that may have occurred before or immediately after this error.

Resolutions

Correct any errors identified by the SQL Server Error log and the Windows System and application logs. If this error persists, contact Microsoft Product Support and Services.
