The rule triggers an alert when Distributed transaction was aborted by MSDTC.

Summary

Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) requested the instance of SQL Server participating in a distributed transaction to cancel the transaction. This ABORT statement was issued before a PREPARE statement was requested of the SQL Server instance.

Resolutions

This message is an indication of normal two phase commit activity. If you are not sure which application or SQL Server query is calling MS DTC, you can use a SQL Profiler trace to capture which command was aborted.
