Service Configuration (Aspect)

This aspect contains the Service Configuration objects that you can monitor in the Device Management Administration Service. These health monitors include the following detectors.

Green Health State

Event ID 6001 (threshold less than 1): ADMIN_SERVICES_CONFIG_UPDATED - The configuration for the %1 component was successfully updated.

Red Health States

Event ID 6202 (threshold greater than 1): SERVICE_MISSING_CONFIGURATION - The MDM service driver host cannot install or start a service because it could not find the X configuration file. Use the MDM installation media to repair the installation and restore the original configuration files.
Event ID 6203 (threshold greater than 1): SERVICE_INVALID_CONFIGURATION - The MDM service driver host cannot install or start a service because the contents of the configuration file are invalid. Use the MDM installation media to repair the installation and restore the original configuration files.

Service configuration is invalid or missing (Resolution)

The Program Files directory for System Center Mobile Device Manager is generally protected so that contents cannot be changed except by administrators of the local machine. If an administrator has changed the dlls and files in this directory, the contents of the configuration files, or the permissions on the folder have changed this may cause failures in the initialization of MDM services.

To correct this issue, reboot the server. If this does not resolve the issue run a repair setup on the server. Run MDM Setup.exe from the SCMDM media, and choose to install the server. Once the Windows Installer for the server initializes, choose the Repair option. This should restore original files, folders, and permissions.

If the repair does not succeed, a reinstallation of the server may be required by uninstalling and reinstalling the product.
