Reporting (Aspect)

This aspect contains the Reporting objects that you can monitor in the MDM Software Distribution Driver. These health monitors include the following detectors.

Green Health States

Event ID 8050: SWD_REPORTING_SUCCESS - Software Distribution service reporting is completed.
Event ID 8051: SWD_REPORTING_EXPORT_SUCCESS - Software Distribution service exported report results to the database.

Yellow Health State

Event ID 8052: SWD_REPORTING_EXCEPTION - An unhandled exception occurred during the Software Distribution service reporting process.

Red Health State

Event ID 8053: SWD_REPORTING_EXPORT_FAILED - Software Distribution service did not export report results to the database.

Reporting Process Status (Diagnoser)

Reporting process in the software distribution driver throws an exception

The reporting process throws an exception when an unexpected event occurs in the process. This event could arise for a number of reasons, such as an unknown download or installation code submitted by the device.

Reporting export to WSUS failed

Check if the connection to Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is lost; re-establish network connectivity to WSUS.
Check if the exported WSUS record being submitted is compatible for the installed WSUS database.

Verify WSUS version (Resolution)

To resolve this issue, make sure you installed the correct version of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

Verify connectivity to the WSUS database (Resolution)

To resolve this issue, make sure you can contact the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) database from the computer that is currently hosting the reporting process. The reporting export process fails if the connection to the WSUS database is lost.

Verify IP address connectivity to the WSUS database server (Resolution)

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

Open a command prompt window.
Ping the Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) database server name.
