This monitor checks the availability status of Software Update Point.
This rule monitors the health state of a Configuration Manager software update point by generating a client-like, synthetic transaction. This rule indicates whether the software update point is healthy or unhealthy. If this check fails it is likely that clients cannot communicate with this server, or they have sporadic connection problems, or both.
This condition could be caused by one or more of the following:
The software update point control manager is stopped or unavailable.
Configuration Manager Software Updates Point is stopped or unavailable.
Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) is stopped or non-functional.
Configuration Manager Site Server SQL Database Server is stopped, unavailable
The PXE service point is using incorrect credentials to access WSUS.
Ensure that the services and configuration items previously mentioned are operating appropriately.
SMS CONTROL_MANAGER maintains the value of the software update point registry key called SUPHealthState. This registry value reflects the result of a heartbeat policy or authentication request against the software update service point, which occurs once every 10 minutes.
