Summary

Discovery to locate AD Connect objects such as an AD Sync service, Connectors and RunProfiles for a Microsoft 365 tenant.

Configuration

This discovery retrieves first parses the m365mp_instance.cfg file and looks for the AZUREACTIVEDIRECTORY tag. If this tag exists for a tenant, the hostname of the computer hosting AD Connect is extracted and used to start a remote PowerShell session. This session will kick off ADSync collection. Therefore, it is important that remote PowerShell is enabled and that the firewall rule "Windows Remote Management" is turned on.

netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Windows Remote Management" new enable=yes Enable-PSRemoting

Two tasks exist for enabling and disabling the firewall and enabling PowerShell remoting. These target the "NiCE Active 365 AD Connect Seed" class.
