Summary
The DHCP allocator component of Network Address Translation (NAT) protocol discarded a packet from client.
 
Causes
The most common reasons for this error are:
  1. The allocator received a packet containing unrecognized code or message type.
  2. The allocator received a packet which is smaller than the minimum size allowed.
  3. The allocator received a packet whose format is invalid.
 
Resolutions
Verify the configuration on the client and see whether it is sending the correct DHCP request.
 
Sample Event
Sample Event#1: The DHCP allocator received a message containing an unrecognized code (%1).The message was neither a BOOTP request nor a BOOTP reply, and was ignored.
Sample Event#2: The DHCP allocator received a message smaller than the minimum message size.The message has been discarded.
Sample Event#3: The DHCP allocator received a message whose format was invalid.The message has been discarded.
Sample Event#4: The DHCP allocator received a DHCP message containing an unrecognizedmessage type (%1) in the DHCP message type option field.The message has been discarded.
