Causes

The NIS client is unable to contact a NIS server. This may happen when the data mover can not reach the peer NIS server for network reasons or because the NIS domain of the client does not match with the NIS domain of the server.

Resolutions

Check the data mover network interface and the route configuration. Use the server_ping command to troubleshoot the problem and check the availability of the NIS server(s) configured in the NIS client of the data mover (see server_nis and server_checkup commands).
