Veeam Agent: Backup Job Duration
Duration of a running job exceeded the configured threshold.
The rule is enabled by default. You can override the following parameters:
Name | Default Value | Description |
Threshold | 480 | Specifies a threshold for a job duration value. If duration of the running job exceeded the configured threshold, the rule will fire an alert. |
Note: If you have configured several overrides of the same type, select the Enforced check box for an override that should have priority over all other overrides.
Each job requires processing resources on the computer and backup target, either local folder/disk or remote server/repository. In case there is a lack of resources, a job may be running longer than expected. If a lot of new files or folders or disks are added to the job, and the amount of data it should process has increased, this can cause extended job duration.
Check whether the long job duration is an issue. The issue could affect other activities planned to run within the scheduled backup timeframe.
To increase processing rate and improve job duration, check whether additional resources could be added for the job. It could be a faster network route from the Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows to the remote share or Veeam Backup & Replication repository.
