Veeam Backup: Job transport mode status

Veeam.Backup.BackupJob.Monitor.BackupJobTransportMode (UnitMonitor)

This monitor tracks Backup Job transport mode state and alerts if job failed over to network mode

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

The monitor tracks job progress and will alert if one or more VMs fail to perform backup/replication using the preferred transport mode.

Causes

A VM disk could fail to be processed via SAN or Virtual Appliance if there is a configuration issue on the storage side that prevents a backup proxy from accessing VM disk files using the preferred storage protocol.

Resolutions

Veeam Backup & Replication server will fail over to the network transport mode, so the backup operation could be finished successfully. However, this could create undesired network traffic.

SAN or Virtual Appliance transport modes allows you to transfer data more efficiently without disrupting other workloads. Check that the backup proxy has an access via SAN protocols to the VM disks. Check that the backup proxy is configured to perform Virtual Appliance VM data transfer.
