Summary

This monitor tracks the vCenter Alarm 'Registration/unregistration of third-party IO filter storage providers fails on a host'.

Causes

This alarm will fire in vCenter, using triggers defined via the vSphere Client.

By default, this alarm is triggered by the following events:

vCenter Server succeeded to unregister a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.

vCenter Server failed to register a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.

com.vmware.vc.iofilter.HostVendorProviderDeregistrationFailedEvent

alarm_status(yellow)

vCenter Server failed to unregister a third-party IO filter storage providers on a host.

Resolutions

In case of a registration error, check that VAIO storage provider endpoint is available via network and can be opened by the vCenter Server. Use the VMware Compatibility Guide to check that storage hardware is compatible with the current vCenter Server version.
