Summary

This monitor tracks the Virtual SAN Health Alarm 'Basic (unicast) connectivity check (normal ping)'.

Causes

To allow a vSAN cluster to function properly, all ESXi hosts that participate in the cluster must be able to talk to each other. The Basic (unicast) connectivity check verifies that hosts in the cluster can ping each other. If the check fails, this means that there is a network configuration issue between one or more pair of hosts.

Resolutions

Make sure that the networking configuration is set up in a way that all hosts in the vSAN cluster can talk to each other.
