This monitor tracks the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy Service Health Alarm.
This alarm will fire in vCenter, using triggers defined via the vSphere Client.
By default, this alarm is triggered by the following events:
vCenter Event | Component | Alarm Status | Description |
vim.event.HealthStatusChangedEvent | rhttpproxy | alarm_status(green) | Health status of the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy Service changed to GREEN. |
vim.event.HealthStatusChangedEvent | rhttpproxy | alarm_status(yellow) | Health status of the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy Service changed to YELLOW. |
vim.event.HealthStatusChangedEvent | rhttpproxy | alarm_status(red) | Health status of the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy Service changed to RED. |
The VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy service is responsible for handling requests to the vSphere API (through the /sdk path) and to the Managed Object Browser (through the /mob path). If the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy Service Health Alarm fires, check whether the VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy service is running. In case the service is stopped, try starting it again. For more information on stopping, starting and restarting vCenter Server 6.x services, see this VMware KB article.
