Description

A USB port has failed due to an over current condition.

Causes

The USB port has too much electrical current.

Implications

A USB port that fails from an over current condition generates this event.

Resolutions

Verify if the USB ports are working. Check the keyboard, the mouse, and devices plugged into the media tray USB ports, for example. If all devices are functioning, no action is required. If the devices are not functioning, perform these steps:

  1. Unplug the USB device that is not working. If the problem goes away, suspect a problem with the USB device.
  2. Plug in the USB device again.
  3. Restart the advanced management module.
  4. Replace the advanced management module.
