Knowledge Article: ID B0002201E: Alternate MM communication failed

Description

The primary advanced management module cannot communicate with the standby advanced management module.

Causes

The management module performs the built-in self test (BIST) that checks the communication between the management module and the alternate management module. If the management module cannot communicate with the other management module, the test fails.

Implications

The failure generates this event.

Resolutions

Perform these steps:

  1. Restart the primary advanced management module.
  2. Restart the standby advanced management module.
  3. Update the firmware for the advanced management module. After updating the firmware, restart the advanced management module.
  4. Generate a manual call home using Service Advisor to replace the advanced management module.
