Description

The fan module is not operating at the expected speed.

Causes

The advanced management module polls the fans through fan module to detect whether the Chassis Cooling Device is outside of recommended speed.

Implications

The enclosure temperature should be addressed at the earliest opportunity. If the enclosure temperature keep rising the system might shut down by itself.

Resolutions

Perform these steps:

  1. Flash (update if applicable) the advanced management module firmware and restart the advanced management module.
  2. Reseat the fan or blower module.
  3. Make sure nothing is blocking air flow of the fan or blower module.
  4. Replace the fan or blower module.
