Description

This incident indicates that the ServeRAID-MR Provider failed.

IBM Director Platform Agent*1 requires one version of the ServeRAID-MR Provider for monitoring the health of the MegaRAID Storage.

Causes

Various reasons can cause the ServeRAID-MR Provider to fail. The exact cause of the problem requires troubleshooting to isolate the problem.

Implications

If the ServeRAID-MR Provider stops functioning properly, almost all of the hardware instrumentations provided by MegaRAID are lost for systems management software, such as IBM Systems Director Server or Microsoft Operations Manager. As a result, the systems management software is not able to discover hardware components or monitor the health of the MegaRAID storage.
