Knowledge Article: ID X0010002 " A processor failure was detected during system POST

Description

A CPU internal error was detected during system POST (Power On System Test). CPU events occur when a service processor or management module detects that the state of a microprocessor (CPU) has changed.

Causes

A variety of conditions can cause a CPU to fail, such as voltage, temperature, or an internal error.

Implications

Address CPU Alerts as soon as possible.

Resolutions

1.    If the Alert text states that the microprocessor has been disabled, replace the microprocessor. Otherwise, monitor the microprocessor for further problems; if the problems persist, replace the microprocessor.

2.    Gather as much information about the failure as possible and identify the processor.
"    Consult the Hardware Maintenance manual and Troubleshooting Guide.
"    Retain the full recorded logs (such as BIOS logs). Information in the logs such as the instance ID (or Device ID), when available, can help you to identify the particular component that experienced the problem.
