Knowledge Article: ID X0030010 " The state of the LAN leash on the NIC has changed

Description

This alert is generated when a management module detects a network LAN leash event. Various LAN events can trigger this notification, depending on the version of your system, its configuration, and the version of the IBM Director Agent.

Causes

The lost or restored LAN leash events occur when a management module detects an IBM Director Agent event that is related to the LAN leash.

Implications

The LAN leash notifications are usually generated by the management module in an IBM Director environment. Other notifications might have more details, such as the LAN Leash Event Identifier, the LAN Leash Event Source, the LAN Leash Event Target, the LAN Leash Event Time, and others.

Resolutions

  1. Contact your authorized operators and/or system administrators.

  2. Gather all the available information about your Alert.

  3. Since the event could have no intrinsic data to identify which NIC the leash was lost on, a manual inspection is required. All network cables must be securely attached at all connections.

  4. Monitor the system for future events, keep track of all alerts, events and logs.
