Knowledge Article: ID X00P0010 " Power supply added/removed

Description

Power Supply events are generated when the Advanced Systems Management processor (ASM processor) detects that the availability state of the system power supply has changed. The notification is sent from servers that do not have a power backplane and that do not support a recovery severity or alert type.

Causes

The notification occurs when a change in the system power supply count of a Level-1 or Level-2 managed system is detected.

Implications

This event is informative only. If necessary, investigate the event and confirm the changes.

Resolutions

  1. Contact your authorized operators and/or system administrators.
    • Review the system power supplies and if necessary determine which power supply has been affected.
    • Consult the System User Guide and Hardware Maintenance manual.
    • Retain the full recorded logs.
  2. Monitor the system for future events, keep track of all alerts, events and logs.
