Summary

The MTA, like other Exchange services, stores its configuration in Active Directory. This error means that the MTA was not able to obtain its configuration from Active Directory.

Resolutions

Turn up logging on the Microsoft Exchange DSAccess component. Use the Netdiag and Dcdiag tools to troubleshoot DNS and Active Directory connectivity issues.
