Explanation

This fault typically occurs when the startup firmware image on an endpoint is corrupted or invalid, and the endpoint cannot boot from that image.

Recommended Actions

If you see this fault, take the following actions:

  • Review the fault and the error message on the FSM tab for the endpoint to determine why the firmware image is unusable. The error message usually includes an explanation for why the endpoint could not boot from the startup image, such as Bad Image or Checksum Failed.

  • If the firmware image is bad or corrupted, download another copy from the Cisco website and update the startup version on the endpoint with the new image.

  • If the fault persists, create a show tech support file and contact Cisco TAC. Click Here
