Monitors whether the BIG-IP local traffic pool member is in either RED, BLUE, YELLOW or BLACK state on any of BIG-IP devices in a Sync-Failover group. Local Traffic Pool Members can have different states on different devices.
Monitor will trigger critical alert if a critical state is found on device where the pool member is active. For some device from a Sync Failover group to be active for that pool member, the pool member needs to belong to a pool that belongs to a virtual server assigned to a traffic group active on that device. In case where pool member belongs to pool that does not belong to any virtual server, each device from Sync Failover group then represents active device for that pool member.
The following configuration parameters are customizable:
Debug | When true, writes more information into event log. Default value is false. |
Use Cache | If true, cache will be used, in order to minimize impact of monitoring on the F5 BIG-IP device. Default value is true. |
Update Interval in Seconds | Recurring scheduled interval in seconds used for running the workflow. Default value is 300 seconds. |
Synchronization Time | Synchronization time in a 24-hour format. No default value is specified. |
Timeout Seconds | Timeout in seconds. This value is used for setting timeout value to access the F5 BIG-IP device. Default value is 270 seconds. |
Monitor Red State | In case that this parameter is set to true, the alert will be created if the pool member is in state Red. RED state means that the pool member is unavailable because either the parent node is down, a monitor has marked the pool member as down, or a user has disabled the pool member. Default value is true. |
Monitor Blue State | In case that this parameter is set to true, the alert will be created if the pool member is in state Blue. BLUE state means that the pool member or node has no monitor associated with it, or no monitor results are available yet. Default value is true. |
Monitor Yellow State | In case that this parameter is set to true, the alert will be created if the pool member is in state Yellow. YELLOW state means that the pool member is unavailable, but could become available later with no user interaction required. Default value is true. |
Monitor Black State | In case that this parameter is set to true, the alert will be created if the pool member is in state Black. BLACK state means that the pool member is set to Disabled. See the monitor knowledge for possible causes. Default value is true. |
