Thin Virtual Disk Repository - Threshold Exceeded

The causes and resolutions refer to the Dell Modular Disk Storage Manager recovery guru. Launch Dell Modular Disk Storage Manager to diagnose and fix the recovery failure as follows:

Causes

A thin virtual disk's repository capacity has exceeded the warning threshold level. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.

If...

Then...

You want to increase the thin virtual disk's maximum expansion capacity (automatic policy only)

Perform the following steps:

a

On the Storage and Copy Services tab in the Array Management Window, highlight the affected thin virtual disk.

b

Select the Storage > Virtual Disk > Change > Repository Settings... menu option.

c

Increase the maximum expansion capacity for the repository.

d

Click the OK button.

Go to step 2.

You want to increase or disable the thin virtual disk's repository capacity threshold warning level

Perform the following steps:

a

On the Storage and Copy Services tab in the Array Management Window, highlight the affected thin virtual disk.

b

Select the Storage > Virtual Disk > Change > Repository Settings... menu option.

c

Adjust the alert threshold to a percentage that is greater than the "Used repository capacity" percentage (identified in the Details area), or set the threshold to 0% to disable the setting.

d

Click the OK button.

Go to step 2.

Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your Technical Support Representative.
