DELLEMC Enterprise SI Engine Status

EMC.SI.Engine.Status.Monitor (UnitMonitor)

Monitor the status of VPLEX engines.

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This monitor reports the availability of engines in EMC VPLEX appliances.

Configuration

See the alert for details about the engine location and state.

Causes

An unhealthy state may occur because of a physical failure of engine enclosure. An unhealthy state may also occur if a module is intentionally or unintentionally removed from its enclosure or is jarred loose during transportation.

Resolutions

Check the unhealthy engine and confirm it is secure in the enclosure.

Additional

For EMC VPLEX appliances, the engines are subcomponents of the cluster enclosures.

For more information about this storage system component, refer to your appliance documentation.
