EMC SI Network Switch Status

EMC.SI.NetworkSwitch.Status.Monitor (UnitMonitor)

Monitor the health status of a Network Switch.

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This monitor reports the availability of network switch components for EMC VNX File storage systems. The network switch provides an internal, private management network between the control stations, the data movers, and if it is a unified VNX storage environment, also the block storage systems.

Configuration

See the alert for details about the affected network switch and its health state.

Causes

An unhealthy state can occur if the network switch has a physical failure or a storage system connection failure.

Resolutions

Confirm the storage system and network connections are set up correctly. Also confirm the network switch is not failing.

Additional

For more information about this storage system component, refer to your storage system documentation.
