Microsoft.ActiveDirectoryFederationServices.2016.FederationServerProcessUnhandledExceptionMonitor (UnitMonitor)

Summary

The Federation Service encountered an unexpected exception error that resulted in the AD FS Windows service being stopped.

If the AD FS Windows service is started successfully, the monitor will change to a Green state and the original critical alert will be resolved automatically.

Causes

An unhandled exception caused the AD FS Windows Service to shut down unexpectedly.

Resolutions

Check the event context for the details of the exception. If this error occurs repeatedly, and you cannot interpret the exception details, contact your product support resources for help.
