Monitors the Offline Sync Service connectivity to the channel database

Summary

Monitors the connection between Retail POS Offline Sync Service and the channel database.

Causes

The server that hosts the channel database is unreachable or has been shut down.
The service account for the Retail POS Offline Sync Service does not have appropriate permissions to the channel database.
The channel database has not been provisioned.

Resolutions

Make sure the SQL Server is running and that the SQL Server can be reached through the network. Specifically, check for incorrect firewall settings or network configuration issues.
Make sure that the Retail POS Offline Sync Service is configured to use the correct service account, and that the service account has the correct permissions in SQL Server for the channel database.
Make sure the channel database was provisioned correctly during installation. Reprovision the database following the installation guide if necessary.

Retail POS Offline Sync Service Channel Database Connectivity

Retail POS Offline Sync Service failed to connect to the channel database.

This will prevent data prepared for offline use at the POS terminal from being updated with new changes. Any pending transactions in the offline database will also not be uploaded. This issue will only result in stale data at the POS if POS runs in offline mode.
