Page Reads/sec (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5)

Microsoft.Linux.RHEL.5.OperatingSystem.PageReadsPerSecond.Collection (Rule)

Collection rule for the performance counter Memory\Page Reads/sec

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This rule collects performance data for the Memory\Page Reads/sec performance counter. The collected values are accessible in performance views and reports.

This metric exposes the number of read operations per second against the disk to resolve hard page faults. This counter shows read operations, without regard to the number of pages retrieved in each operation. This counter is a primary indicator for the kinds of faults that cause system-wide delays.
