Page Writes/sec (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5)

Microsoft.Linux.RHEL.5.OperatingSystem.PageWritesPerSecond.Collection (Rule)

Collection rule for the performance counter Memory\Page Writes/sec

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This rule collects performance data for the Memory\Page Writes/sec performance counter. The collected values are accessible in performance views and reports.

This metric exposes the number of write operations per second written to disk to free up space in physical memory. This counter shows write operations, without regard to the number of pages written in each operation. This counter is a primary indicator for the kinds of faults that cause system-wide delays.
