Microsoft.SQLServer.2008.Login_failed__Password_too_short_5_Rule (Rule)

Summary

A user attempted to change the password, but the proposed password was too short. The Windows security log will identify the user name under MSSQLSERVER event ID 18464.

Causes

The Minimum password length policy setting specifies a minimum number of characters that must be used.

Resolutions

The user must create a new password that meets or exceeds the minimum password length policy.
