MSSQL 2014: Active File Pairs

Microsoft.SQLServer.2014.CollectionRule.DBFileGroupFx.ActiveFilePairs (Rule)

Collects the number of Active Checkpoint File Pairs in In-Memory file group.

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

The rule collects the number of Active Checkpoint File Pairs in In-Memory file group.

Active CFPs contain the inserted/deleted rows from previous closed checkpoints. These CFPs contain all inserted/deleted rows required for applying the active part of the transaction log at the database restart. It is expected that the size of these CFPs is approximately 2x of the in-memory size of memory-optimized tables assuming merge operation is keeping up with the transactional workload.
