OperatingSystem Available MBytes

Microsoft.Solaris.11.OperatingSystem.AvailableMBytes.Monitor (UnitMonitor)

Solaris 11 OperatingSystem Available MBytes Monitor

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

Available megabytes of memory is low. System performance may be adversely affected.

The available megabytes memory value represents the available memory reported by the operating system (from the sysconf API).

The monitor threshold is analyzed against an average of values returned in polls to the agent, where the Number of Samples parameter controls the number of samples included in the calculation of the average.

Causes

The amount of available physical memory can become low under the following circumstances:

Resolutions

To address a low physical memory condition an administrator may choose one or more of the following options:

You can view available memory by running the "Memory Information" Task from the State View.

You can view detailed memory statistics by running the "Run VMStat" Task from the State View.
