The Virtual Machine Manager agent is not responding on a virtual machine host or a library server.
Possible causes include:
On a library server, the Virtual Machine Manager agent has stopped.
The connection between the VMM server and the host or library server was lost.
The host or library server is offline.
To troubleshoot issues with an agent not responding:
1 | Restart the Virtual Machine Manager Agent service on the host or library server. |

To restart a Virtual Machine Manager agent from the Operations Console:
1 | In the Operations Console, click Monitoring. |
2 | In the Monitoring Explorer, expand Virtual Machine Manager 2008 R2 Agent, and then click Agent State. |
3 | In the results pane, select the computer on which the VMM agent is installed. Then, in the Actions pane, click Start Agent. |
