This rule generates alerts when the Windows Workflow 4.0 Module experiences a runtime failure.

Summary

The Windows Workflow 4.0 module experienced a runtime error.

Causes

The Windows Workflow 4.0 module can fail during runtime in the following cases: The runtime duration exceeded the configured timeout value. The queue for Windows Workflows is filled with other workflows and the maximum wait time has expired. There was a problem saving state configuration, logging or progress data or something completely unexpected happened.

Resolutions

If the runtime duration exceeded the configured timeout value try changing the timeout value and rerun the Windows Workflow again.

If the Widows Workflow module expired due to the queue being full check the system to understand what other Windows Workflows are in the queue and then rerun the Windows Workflow again.

If there was a problem saving state configuration, logging or progress data or something completely unexpected happened check the agent or management server configuration, ensure .Net Framework 4.0 is installed and rerun the Windows Workflow again.
