DFS-R: Replicated Folder Path State

Microsoft.Windows.FileServer.DFSR.InvalidRootPathOnSharedDisk (UnitMonitor)

This object monitors replicated folder paths and creates a Warning alert if it detects that a replicated folder is located on a shared volume when the replication group member is not a failover cluster.

Summary

Causes

An unhealthy state of this monitor indicates that an administrator created a replicated folder in shared storage on a non-clustered server.

Resolutions

Recreate the server’s membership in the replication group

Remove the server’s membership in the replication group and then add the server back to the replication group, choosing a local volume that is not shared storage for a failover cluster.

Note: To administer a replication group, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group in the domain in which the replication group is configured, the creator of the replication group, or have been delegated permissions.

Verification

This monitor automatically resets to a healthy state when it detects that the replicated folder is no longer located in shared storage.
