The failure type is Uncertified Drive
What Caused the Problem?
An uncertified drive has been inserted into the storage array. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.
Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage the equipment.
Important Notes
Refer to your hardware documentation or call your Technical Support Representative for information on which drives are certified for your storage array. Depending on the version of firmware on your storage array, an individual drive with a capacity greater than 2 TB may not be supported.
If the drive is uncertified because it is 2 TB or greater, replace it with a smaller capacity certified drive.
If the drive is uncertified for any other reason, replace it with a certified drive of equal or greater capacity.
You can replace a failed drive while the storage array is receiving I/O.
Recovery Steps
1 | Remove the uncertified drive (its fault indicator light should be on). |
2 | Wait 30 seconds, then insert a certified drive. |
3 | Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your Technical Support Representative. |
