Two ESMs or a controller and ESM are not cabled together properly.
What Caused the Problem?
The storage array contains an improper cabling configuration for Fibre Channel trunking. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.
Important Notes
This miswire problem only applies to an improper cabling connection with regards to Fibre Channel trunking. This problem does not necessarily imply an improper cabling configuration that would affect data path redundancy.
A correct Fibre Channel trunking configuration requires two connections between a drive channel on a controller and an ESM, or two connections between two ESMs.
The current (incorrect) cabling configuration as well as the correct cabling configuration are displayed in the details area.
Recovery Steps
1 | The Recovery Guru Details area shows the current (incorrect) cabling configuration and what the cabling configuration SHOULD be (correct cabling configuration). Make sure the ports listed in the Correct cabling configuration field are properly connected with appropriate Fibre Channel cables. After you have a valid cabling configuration, go to step 2. | ||||||
2 | Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, then complete the following steps:
