An Async Mirror Group member deletion has partially failed, resulting in an orphaned mirror member.
What Caused the Problem?
There is a volume in an asynchronous mirror group on this (local) storage array that is not mirrored with another volume on the remote storage array. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.
Important Notes
This problem typically occurs when a remove operation was attempted while there was a connection problem between this storage array and the remote storage array. As a result, the mirrored pair was not completely removed from the asynchronous mirror group on both storage arrays, leaving one of the mirrored volumes orphaned within the mirror group on this storage array.
The only recovery action for this problem is to remove the orphaned mirrored volume from the asynchronous mirror group.
Recovery Steps
1 | Refer to the Details area to identify the orphaned mirrored volume and affected asynchronous mirror group. |
2 | On the Storage and Copy Services tab in the Array Management Window, highlight the affected asynchronous mirror group. |
3 | In the right-hand pane, highlight the orphaned mirrored volume. |
4 | Select the Copy Services > Mirroring > Asynchronous Mirroring > Mirrored Pair > Remove menu option. |
5 | Follow the instructions in the dialog, and then click the Remove button. |
6 | Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your Technical Support Representative. |
