The World Wide Web Publishing Service has stopped. Configuration Manager requires this service to display reports. This condition does not repair itself and must be resolved before Configuration Manager reports can be viewed.
This condition could typically occur when:
The server that is running Internet Information Services (IIS) is shut down or is restarted.
IIS is being upgraded with hotfixes or service packs.
Changes are made to the operating system, such as upgrading or adding additional services, such as Certificate Services. During upgrades or component installations, all IIS services might have to be stopped.
Verify that World Wide Web Publishing Service was stopped due to routine or scheduled maintenance, or due to scheduled changes to the operating system or its components.
If the World Wide Web Publishing Service is not already started, start it.
The World Wide Web Publishing Service depends on the IIS Admin Service.
After the World Wide Web Publishing Service is running, the default Web site might be disabled. You can check the status of the default Web site in the IIS Administrator console.
This alert is best handled by IIS administrators.
For more assistance, see the list of additional support options in the support section of the Configuration Manager Web site at Support for Configuration Manager 2007.
